Hi beauties! If you’ve been following me for awhile you know that typically, I don’t use drugstore foundation. But this summer I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try out a drugstore foundation that caught my eye. I’m not new to the Maybelline foundation line, to date they are the only brand that I’ve been able to enjoy from the drugstore that provides a long-lasting matte foundation thanks to their Maybelline Super Stay Full Coverage Foundation Collection.
When I came across the Maybelline New York Dream Urban Cover Foundation in Truffle with SPF 50 I had to give it a try! This year, my focus has been on protecting my skin during all seasons – including during the summer and cooler months. When I first purchased this product during the summer season I didn’t think much it. At the very least my expectation was to have sun protection thanks to the SPF. But boy was I surprised! I fell in love with this product not only because of the sun protection it provides to my skin, but also because it was a great colour match, it applied to my face effortlessly (I didn’t have to use much product), and was lightweight and comfortable to wear (it did not feel heavy on my skin, even during hot and humid summer days).
Currently it is the fall, soon to be winter season and I’m still enjoying the benefits of this product. It’s a pleasant surprise to be able to find a drugstore product that I’m able to use during all seasons; the benefit being is that it’s a great colour match and protects my skin from harmful weather elements.
TIP: if you have combination and/or oily skin such as myself I’d strongly recommend using a mattifying primer prior to application and a powder on top to set it in order to last as long as possible.
