Quick Workout Idea

Hello fellow fitness enthusiasts! If you’re like me, sometimes you don’t have a lot of time to spend at the gym. Personally, I enjoy giving myself at least 1hour in the gym for a good solid workout. With that being said, during this hour I realize that I can’t hit all of my major body parts like I’d prefer, and that I must ensure that at the very least, I give myself a great sweat-session and include some abdominal work. 

When completing a 1 hour workout my main objective is to get my heart rate up! That’s why I prefer to include cardio. Personally, my two favourite cardio gym machines are the star master and the treadmill. I prefer to use the stair master because it gives me the most intense lower body and overall body burn. Taking the stairs isn’t easy! Especially if you use the stair master as part of a high intensity interval training workout. I also prefer to use the treadmill because it assists with improving the conditioning of my heart and it involves my whole body to be involved in running.

As you will see in the workout below,  I’ve included an abdominal plank set. Planks are one of the most challenging and beneficial abdominal workouts to do. Completing this abdominal set after an intense cardio session is no joke. Let me know if you try out this quick workout in the comment section below!

Workout routine:

  • 20 minutes on the stairmaster
  • 20 minutes running
  • 10 minutes of planks; 1 min plank hold and 30 seconds rest
  • 10 minute full body stretch
