Hello Manicure Monday! My obsession with manicures have officially extended into gel polishes and doing my own gel polish manicures at home with Bio Seaweed Gel Polish.
I’ve been familiar with the Bio Seaweed Gel brand for a few years now; when I used to get my nails done (often) professionally, I’d tend to choose shades from this brand due to their large colour selection, and the longevity of how long it wore on my nails. Often, I’d have my nail polish last without any noticeable chipping for over 2 weeks! Recently, I attended a beauty expo where I was able to learn more about the brand (they are Canadian!) and purchase a few professional items to do professional gel manicures from the comfort of my own home.
I was attracted to purchasing these items because as much as I love getting my nails done at the nail salon, it does add up and I was looking for a way to minimize my manicure costs. Completing DIY gel nails at home in-between professional manicure services is a win-win situation for me! I bought a bundle of polishes from the Unity All-in-One line to get me started. The Unity All-in-One collection does not require a base or top coat as would traditionally be expected with gel polish to help it adhere and last on your nails. All you need is the polish! I thought this was a good way for me to get into doing my own gel polish nails since I’m not a professional.
I’ve been doing my own gel manicure now for a couple of months and I love it! This polish makes it easy for me to get a professional manicure look on my own. What I find is that my gel manicures last a good week before I start experiencing chipping specifically in the corners of my nails on my right hand (my dominant hand). I still need practice on application but so far so good! I’ll be sharing with you swatches of each polish in future posts.
Let me know in the comment section below if you enjoy doing your own manicures.
