Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal Fragrance

Hi beauties! Last week I had the opportunity to attend Jean Paul Gaultier fragrance launch party of his latest fragrance release – Scandal! Let me tell you, it was definitely an event that had a bit of scandal to it 😉

I had such a great time at the launch party and I’d like to say a huge thank you to Beauty Editor and Cityline Expert Dave Lackie for the invite!

Attendees were greeted to the event by a red carpet fit for the stars that led into a night consisting of drinks, dancing, food, fragrance try-on sessions with testers, and lots of fun! The Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal launch party took place in Toronto, Ontario at Brassaii located on King Street West. Beautiful large cobalt blue doors welcomed guests to a night filled with all things Gaultier.

As soon as guests entered, they were greeted with cocktails and champagne curated for this launch. The drinks were fresh, sweet, and tangy; the perfect compliment to the scent of the hour! Each booth and table was adorned with decorative pieces that complemented Scandal; from the notes that were used to create the fragrance to the stories used to share the origins of Scandal.

Scandal is an eau de parfume that has top notes of blood and mandarine orange, middle notes of honey, jasmine, orange blossom, gardenia, and peach and base notes of caramel, liquorice, beeswax, and patchouli. Upon reading this list, yes — IT’S A LOT! However, magically, all of these notes come together beautifully to create such a unique feminine sexy scent.

Scandal comes packaged in a sleek glass jar with rounded corners and a unique silver topper. It’s all about the legs! Scandal by Jean Paul Gaultier is a little bit scandalous by showing some leg 🙂 The topper is chic and cheeky; showcasing the lighthearted spirit of Jean Paul. The bottle is not too heavy and it’s easy to take the cap off when you are ready to enjoy the scent.

From my experience, upon first spray, I definitely smell the blood orange and honey notes. The mandarine is a sub-scent that I’m able to pick up after a few minutes of it settling on my skin. Immediately after (based on my own body chemistry), I’m able to smell notes of caramel and jasmine. It’s such a beautiful layering of citrus, sweetness and warmth that lays on my skin beautifully. This is a sweet, spicy and warm fragrance all rolled into one! Each note reveals itself overtime. This scent is something that I could wear during the day and well into the night! I’ve been testing the longevity of Scandal since I was gifted with it, and I can say for sure that it does last for over 4 hours. Especially when I lightly spray my clothes too — I smell Scandalous!

It was a scandalous night filled with so much fun! I had such a good time and am so happy to be able to wear this scent!
