Hi beauties! Today I wanted to share with you some of the fragrance tips I’ve been following this winter.
This is the season of rich, intense scents that encourages comfort and warmth. Although I enjoy wearing strong fragrances during this season I do continue to wearing some of my lighter scents at times. When it comes to fragrance, one of the features that I look for, is for it to last on my skin for about 4 hours minimum (half a work day). One way that I ensure my scents last a long time is by using richer skincare creams, body butters, or a natural oil such as almond oil.
If you use rich skincare products prior to applying your fragrance, it not only helps to moisturize your skin in preparation for the fragrance but it also acts as a seal; locking in the scent to your body.
Another way that I ensure my fragrance lasts for a long time is by also simply spraying my clothes with the perfume that I’m using for the day. I know there is some concern with spraying clothes with fragrance because of the affect it may have on fabric. I try to prevent my clothes from getting impacted negatively from perfume by applying it from a distance; this way my clothes get lightly laced with fragrance.
I find the best place to apply fragrance is on your pulse points so the scent could develop to it’s fullest potential. Typically I apply my fragrance on the crook of my neck, arms and wrists. This way, throughout the day the scent that I’m wearing is lightly wrapped around me.
Let me know in the comment section below what’s your favourite scent is. Mine is vanilla!
