Beauty Finance Event Recap

Hi beauties! Last week I had an amazing opportunity to attend Dave Lackie’s first beauty event of 2019; #beautyfinance ! As the name implies, this event was all about learning the beauty trends for 2019 along with some great financial advice to consider for the year. 

If you follow my blog, or instagram account (@simplyeseeri) you’ll know that these two topics are very close to my heart so I was very happy to attend and learn! Personally, when I had started blogging more consistently a few years ago I was in the process of paying off my student debt and was able to successfully pay off over 50k in under 3 years!

After paying off my debt, I started seriously saving while sometimes indulging in purchasing beauty products!

I wanted to share with you some notable quotes that attendees heard when it came to finance AND beauty. Both were relatable and helpful tips that can be applied to having a great 2019 year. I will definitely keep the notable tips in mind.

Finance

• Money is a tool to achieve a goal.
• A goal without a plan is a wish. Plan what you’ll do with your money.
• Pay down your debt first. Then save!
• Start small; no matter how much money you have start small.
• The last 10 years of your life are expected to be the most expensive; be sure to plan for it!
• Mindful spending; pay attention to how you spend your money and when. Don’t spend your money just because.

Beauty

• 2019 beauty trends its all about skincare.
• The longer you use a skincare product the better it works.
• One of the biggest brands at Sephora this year will be Drunk Elephant.
• Bold colours are in trend for the year. Rich hues of blue, pink and even neon makeup shades for both the eyes and lips.
• Fragrance has no gender, ladies, if you find a male scent that you like — wear it!
