Maybelline Superstay Full Coverage Foundation

Hi beauties! It’s been awhile since I’ve talked about an affordable foundation and I had to share the one that I’ve been using daily with you.

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m a bit of a foundation snob. When it comes to foundations I’m very picky because of my dark skin; it’s hard to find the perfect match. However, I’ve recently been obsessed with Maybelline Superstay Full Coverage Foundation in Mocha for the past few weeks!

This foundation is described as a full coverage foundation that is packed with pigment and is long-wear (up to 24-hours of wear time). It’s also claims to stay in place; meaning it won’t shift and move around as you wear it for a long period of time.

Maybelline recently expanded their shade range to include deeper colours for women of colour and as you can see I have the shades Coconut, Mocha and Truffle. As I mentioned earlier Mocha is my obsession. Lol! It’s literally the perfect match for my face. It’s refreshing and exciting to know that I can now pick up a drugstore foundation in a shade that fits me 🙂

My experience with this foundation is that it’s not only the perfect skin colour match, it is also the perfect finish for me to wear everyday. In my experience, it dries down to a semi matte natural looking finish. I find that it somehow blends into my skin rather than sit on top of  it, hence not making it look cakey. Note, I do set my foundation with a dusting of MAC Studio Fix Powder in NW 45 and it all feels lightweight on my face.

Although it’s a full coverage foundation, I find it light wearing and comfortable to wear throughout the day. The only “movement” of the foundation that I experience is on my laugh lines (which is a normal experience for me with all foundations that I wear). If you have oily/combination skin, I’d highly suggest using a mattefying primer prior to use and a setting spray to make it look absolutely flawless all day.
