Cheat meal where you at?! That is the mood I’m typically in when I’ve eaten healthy meals 3 times a day for about 5 days straight. What keeps me going is the fact that I know a cheat meal is on the horizon.Yes I said cheat meal, not cheat day! When it comes to maintaining a balanced healthy diet, for me it’s important to include foods that are not a part of my typical diet. I’m talking about cakes, pasta, rice, anything fried and alcohol!
Initially, I said cheat meal and not cheat day because it’s important to remember, you don’t want to alter any health and fitness results that you work so hard on during the week.
If you do a simple Google search, there are articles that give you tips on what to eat during a cheat meal. Personally, I don’t follow any rules when it comes to breaking my diet. LoL! The whole purpose of a cheat meal is to let lose and succumb to your cravings. Don’t get me wrong, of course it’s something that should be done in moderation, i.e. don’t binge and consider portion control.
Personally, I enjoy cheat meals not only because it gives me the opportunity to eat the junk that I’m craving for the week but also because it actually helps me to get refocused back onto my diet. That sounds weird right? Honestly it does because after my cravings have been satisfied I’m more than happy to continue on to eating my healthy meals.
