Hi beauties! I’ve finally gotten the chance to review Fenty Beauty Match Stix Trio in Deep 400. I’ve had the opportunity to use these products since its launch so I’m excited to share my review!

Product Description

Fenty Beauty Match Stix Trio in Deep 400 comes packaged in a trio set; you receive a concealer, contour and highlight stix (not a typo 😉 ) for the price of one. Each stick contains 10g (0.25 oz) of product. The container for each stix is a soft pink nude shade with the makeup brand logo in holographic text. They have the name of the shade located on the bottom of the product. What’s cool about the packaging is that it’s magnetized! The trio stix stick to each another once in close proximity! This is a neat feature when it comes to makeup storage.

To open the packaging all you do is simply pop open the top, and twist up the body of the tube to expose the product for use.

In the Deep 400 trio you receive the following:

  • Matte concealer colour in Suede
  • Shimmer skinstick colour in Sinamon
  • Matte contour colour in Espresso

All three products are formulated without parabens, sulfates, or phthalates.

As you can see from the swatches above these products appear to be of a creamy texture on the skin. Let me say, from my experience, that assumption is WRONG. When I swatched these products on my hand I made the wrong assumption and quickly found this out once I started using them.

From my experience, each of these three products are what I would describe as dry in formulation and texture. They are so unique! As soon as you apply them to the skin they seem to transform into a powdery texture. To say I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement. I’m extremely happy with this formulation due to my combination, oily skin; these products don’t slip off my oily skin.

Next, let’s discuss the pigmentation. They all are pigmented products that go perfectly with my deep skin tone. I was actually surprised about this because I expected for them all to “fade away” due to a lack in pigment once blended out. This is definitely not the case and I was also pleased with that. When you use these products, you’ll realize that they provide a natural makeup look as opposed to a “done-up” makeup look.

Now to the cons. The main thing I am least impressed with from this trio is the concealer. As I mentioned earlier, the formulation of all three products is powdery and dry in texture. That includes the concealer. When I apply this particular product under my eyes as a highlight what happens is that it “dries” into a powder once set, and in turn, magnifies the amount of wrinkles I have under my eyes. And when you set it with a powder – game over — it ends up looking worse! I tried to use this product without setting it with a setting powder and it separated and creased under my eyes which was not a good look. Overall, it magnifies the under-eye lines and creases which is what I do not like. When I use creamier products as an under-eye highlighter I do not experience the same results. As a result, I mainly use this products for a nose, forehead and chin contour since the product does not crease in these areas.

Thankfully, my experience with Fenty Beauty Match Stix Trio is great and I’d definitely suggest checking out these products if you get the chance to.
