One of my favourite new products that I’ve tested out this year is the Kate Somerville Clarifying Treatment Toner.
Packaging and Product Description
The Kate Somerville Clarifying Treatment Toner comes packaged in a white plastic tube with baby blue font. The cap easily pops up and the product is dispersed once you press onto the top with a cotton pad.
This toner is geared towards oily skin. It claims to balance out and clear acne-prone oily skin through its bacteria fighting ingredients. On the Sephora site, the product description also claims to help remove dead skin and lighten skin discoloration caused by acne. You get 150ml (5 fl oz) of product and it’s alcohol and fragrence free.
Performance
I’ve been using the Kate Somerville Clarifying Treatment Toner since February 2016. I absolutely love it! This is the most gentle toner I’ve used to date. At the time of my initial purchase I was dealing not only with acne wounds but with acne scars too. I was looking for a gentle product to use following cleansing my face that would not sting my wounds like traditional toners do (most contain alcohol). It took about 4 months for me to start noticing my skin was responding positively to the product.
It does somehow manage to tone the oilyness of my skin (except for the oil that produces on my nose). It also has contributed to a decrease in my mild acne breakouts; mainly the small bumps I used to get. From experience, I do not think this product would prevent moderate to aggressive acne – but it would contribute to the healing process of such outbreaks.
Kate Somerville Clarifying Treatment Toner is a product that has become a staple in my night-time routine! Her products are amazing and I look forward to sharing other products from her skin care line with you.
