Aluminum found in deodorants are said to temporarily block your sweat glands from perspiring; the fragrance added to traditional deodorants that contain aluminum then further decrease the natural scent of your body by masking it with the scent that has been added to it. Parabens are chemical preservatives that are often found in cosmetics. LAVANILA The Healthy Deodorant is described as an 100 percent natural deodorant that is safe, and effective.
Packaging and Product Description
LAVANILA The Healthy Deodorant comes packaged in standard deodorant packaging; a plastic container with a twist top. To have more access to the product you simply twist the bottom portion of the packaging to push more product to the top. The illustration on the package is beautiful; a floral design surrounding the company name and the chosen deodorant scent. The actual deodorant is a solid white stick, you get 57g (2oz) of product. I purchased the deodorant that smells like vanilla lavender.
Performance
As most solid white stick deodorants this one is visible under my underarms as soon as I apply it. What I notice imminently is the scent. This is a highly fragranced deodorant when I compare it to the other ones that I’ve used. The vanilla lavender combination is perfect; I find the lavender to be a bit strong but the vanilla notes soften it up and helps to tone down the lavender a little bit.
On me, the scent lasts for a few hours, once it has worn off, my body chemistry takes over (aka I smell) so I do reapply it at least once or twice throughout the day. This is the first natural deodorant that I’ve tried and I would say that it’s a good experience!
