In Jamaica, there were more than a few tourist activities that we participated in at each city that we visited. Most of the tourist activities we engaged in during our time in Jamaica were done during our stay in Negril. One of the easiest tourist activities for us to accomplish first was to walk the seven mile beach since we were staying in the area.
In all honesty, we couldn’t make the whole seven miles! It’s long, especially when walking under the hot sun. Seven mile beach has other hotels and resorts on it, but none crowd the area. There are sellers that try and get you to purchase items such as jewelry and boat rides. Bars are also located on the beach so if you’d like to take a break while walking, a refreshment it’s readily available.
Visits to local areas such as downtown and in churches, stores, bars, restaurants, and bakeries, allowed us to experience local culture. Our favourite restaurants included Sweet Spice, Yard and Abroad, and Mom’s Restaurant.
