My last vacation of the year ended on a high note in Jamaica. We started our week long vacation in Negril and then spent a couple of days in Ocho Rios and in Lucea. I wish you all could experience the beauty of Jamaica! The sand was golden, the water sparkling blue and the sun shone bright.
In Negril, we stayed at a boutique called Sandy Haven Resort that was built right on the seven mile beach. It was a beautiful establishment with friendly staff, amazing food and beautiful views. There were no activities offered at the resort aside from dinner performances. However, staff were more than ready to assist with planning tourist excursions.
When spending time at Sandy Haven after nights out of town, we made sure to utilize the Jacuzzi hot tub. There was also a swimming pool at the facility but we never went into it as the beach was better with its beautiful views.
While staying in Ocho Rios, we stayed at a lodge located in the city. Accommodations in the lodge varied greatly as it was not a standard modern hotel establishment. We were slightly disappointed with the lodge, and the customer service. On a positive note, the views of the water were stunning.
The facility had a swimming pool but we didn’t go into the pool as the weather was bad on the nights that we were there. Additionally, the pool was not as inviting as other pools we had been to before. Instead we choose to spend time out in town.
Our last couple of nights stay was at the Grand Palladium Jamaica Resort & Spa in Lucea. The Grand Palladium was the perfect way to end our trip! It has the largest all inclusive hotel that I’ve ever been to. It’s known for having the largest pool in Jamaica with a large amount of activities to choose from during the day and night. The staff were amazing; friendly, attentive and ready to help. Meals and drinks were plentiful and unlimited. The Grand Palladium is one of Jamaica’s newest hotel and I’d highly suggest visiting if you are ever in Jamaica.
