MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Gold Deposit is described by MAC as a slow-baked velvet soft face powder with a radiant finish. It can be used on the face and body to add highlights, or it can be buffed into the skin to add a sheer glowing finish. In the pan, Gold Deposit looks to be more of a copper-bronze colour but when swatched, it is indeed a gold highlighting powder. This is a finely milled powder with miniscule glitter particles. It can be worn heavily applied or buffed into the skin for an understated glow.
I find this product easily blends into my skin and it creates a beautiful ethereal look. A little bit of this product goes a long way and it works well with other makeup products such as my matte foundations and setting powders. This powder is quickly becoming a favourite MAC product of mine. With my dark skin tone, the gold shimmer and glitter particles complement it beautifully.
Generally, I don’t wear Gold Deposit with a heavy application; I prefer a subtle golden highlighted glow on the high points of my face. When wearing this powder, I must first use a primer to ensure that my face is matte and stays matte for the duration of wear. I have very oily skin and I take the necessary measures to prevent this product from turning into a shiny oily mess. Additionally, if you have large pores such as myself, I wouldn’t suggest you place Gold Deposit in this area as it will magnify and bring attention to such areas of your face. Personally, I generally wear this product on my cheekbones as it’s the least porous and oily part of my face. Stay tuned for a beauty look featuring this product!
