If you’ve been following my blog you’ll know that I love going out to eat. This trip was no exception. Whatever my heart desired I ate! If you get the chance to visit NYC I highly suggest you try out some good eats.
Since pizza is one of my favourite foods, I had to grab a slice while in NYC. We stopped by a Slice of New York Pizza Cafe (located on 727 8th Ave). We had been touring the city all day and were looking for a bite to eat. The display of different pizzas in the window caught our eye and brought us in. I choose to get a classic pepperoni pizza. As you can see, this is a very meaty, greasy, cheesy pepperoni slice that I need to consume immediately. The slice was heated to perfection and was a gooey cheesy slice on the first bite! I really like how the crust was crispy to perfection and how the pepperoni was slightly salty as it complemented the tomato sauce perfectly.
Sea: The Thai Experience was one of my new favourite restaurants that I visited in NYC. Located on 114 N 6th St. Brooklyn, the ambiance, menu and drinks all provided a nice atmosphere for an awesome meal. I had the Martini Crispy Shrimp as an appetizer, Classic Pork Chops an an entree and a Classic Mojito to drink. The appetizer was served nice and warm with a marinara basil sauce. It was crispy on first bite due to the rice dough covering and then you immediately get the meatiness of the shrimp that was cooked perfectly (not rubbery or bland in taste or texture). When combined with the sauce, the appetizer provided a different level of flavour; the dipping sauce was sweet and savory with a hint of spice. I’ve never had anything like that before and enjoyed it. The entree exceeded my expectations! I was served two large pork chops on a bed of vegetables and a side of white rice. I requested for the pork chops to be well cooked; it was as requested and remained juicy, flavorful and succulent! I cannot describe how flavorful and juicy these pork chops were; melt in your mouth goodness! My friend said that next time she will be ordering this entree as she preferred it to the meal that she had ordered. My Mojito was also made well. Just the right amount of alcohol, mint and lime to end off a great night!
Majestic Delicatessen, located on 200 W 50th St. satisfied my sweet tooth beyond belief. We ordered the white chocolate and chocolate mouse slice and the red velvet mouse slice as well. Both these slices provided heaven in my mouth. I almost don’t even want to reminisce because of how badly I wish I can eat them again! They were smooth, creamy, and sweet with hints of chocolate and vanilla being the most prominent flavour profiles in my mouth.
I hope you enjoyed the recap of my NYC 2015 trip (check out NYC 2015 – Part 1) and I look forward to visiting the city that never sleeps again!
