A few weeks ago my friend and I headed off to New Orleans (aka Nola) during Easter weekend. We spent 4 nights and 5 days and enjoyed our stay there! The first thought when we stepped off the plane was how nice and warm it was compared to what Toronto was going through that week (cold and snowing). Our first day out in Nola included a lot of exploring and familiarizing ourselves with the city. This process included a lot of public transit, walking, maps, and asking strangers for direction. My friend is amazing because she reads maps like a pro and boldly led us around town on our first day there. New Orleans is a beautiful city filled with rich history and many sights to see.
Southern hospitality is alive and well in New Orleans! At random times we would be greeted and it was such a sweet, nice gesture. One of the main benefits to being in New Orleans was having the opportunity to try out so many different foods; from Cajun, to Creole to trying out authentic jambalaya and feasting on crawfish for the first time! There is so much culture, and history in the city and that’s what makes it one of the most uniquely bright, bold, and intriguing cities I’ve been to.
Blog posts will be up providing a quick look at some of the main tourist attractions to check out when in New Orleans. Hope you enjoy.
