Setting a routine is important during your fitness journey. It’s important to set aside  some time during your day to focus on yourself and your physical fitness. Just like you are dedicated to going to work, you should be just as dedicated to working out. For some, the first thought of a routine may seem daunting; talks of it being mundane and not exciting may be heard. Routines are exciting! Especially when you cater them to your lifestyle and develop activities that you look forward to completing. Boring is a state of mind so get out of it and commit yourself to being consistent during your fitness journey. Personally, the first step I took to developing a fitness routine was to decide when I wanted to workout. Going to the gym in the morning before work is best for me because it gives me no excuses for not working out after work. If I know that I won’t make it to a morning workout I’ll make plans to go in the evening. The goal is to get to the gym during the work-week, so I make changes to my routine as my schedule sees fit. Additionally, I’ve developed my routine further by focusing on particular activities during the week. For example, on Mondays I focus on a full body strength training routine while on Tuesdays I participate in spin class. The types of activities I engage in when it comes to strength training and cardiovascular training varies; this helps keep my workouts fresh and exciting! Do you have a fitness routine? How do you stay consistent with your fitness lifestyle?
