This morning when I got to the gym everything went as planned; I did some strength training and was able to run a couple of miles on the treadmill (to see a detail list of what I did check out my Instagram @simplyeseeri). But somewhere after the first mile I got sluggish and wanted to stop; it’s Monday morning, I didn’t get enough sleep and I was tired from all the squatting I had just done. I didn’t stop, instead I kept on going. The moment I reached my hand to stop the treadmill was the same moment that I decided to increase the speed. Something inside me said to keep on going and I listened!
During your fitness journey it will get hard, there will be times when you just don’t want to do anything but to sit down, eat and watch T.V. There will also be times when you think what is the point? The point is for health, the point is for physical wellness, the point is to get you to a place where you feel good about yourself both mentally and physically. Let’s be honest; yes most of us go to the gym because we want to look a certain way, or because we want to improve a certain part of our body. But the reality is once that goal is attained then what? Are you going to stop working out? Of course not! I wouldn’t because it feels good to workout; I enjoy the feeling of pushing my body to the limits physically when I’m at the gym just as much as I enjoy how I look when I wear certain clothes. You can do it, keep on going!
