Breakfast

With the start of a new month it’s easier to reset your food habits and get back on track with eating as healthy as possible. It is often said that breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day to eat. Breakfast helps to jump start your metabolism once you wake up; it fuels your body with vitamins and minerals first thing in the morning. With that being said, I decided to try and get out of my breakfast eating rut (consisting mainly of oatmeal) and introduce some variety. First off is a Greek yogurt (green tea and lime flavoured) topped with granola, unsweetened coconut shreds, pecan pieces and chia seeds. On the side I have a cup of green tea, water and seedless red grapes. There is a good mix of carbohydrates, protein and sugar. To my surprise, this light meal sustained me till my first snack of the day! It will be added to my list of breakfast options. What breakfast foods are your favourite?
